No Indy ice cream for Austria

In Italy I saw two Indy ice creams, Germany got at least one but I could not find any here in Austria. So I ended up writing to Nestlé (= Schöller, the name of their ice cream brand) for some answers. And I got one:

Sehr geehrter Herr Krasny -

If you can't read German, they just mocked me by telling me to be happy with the great Hello Kitty cup that they have added to their goods.

Here is my reply: Fuck you, Nestlé! If you think anyone waited 19 years for a Hello Kitty cup or some soccer championship crap then your marketing guys are even worse than your products. At least I don't feel bad for never buying your lousy ice cream.

Here is another shot from what we not got: The Indy movie cup with vanilla/cacao ice cream, each coming with one of seven collectible figures. I am developing an growing urge for a short trip to Italy to buy some ... ("short" is a relative term, it's a four hours drive to Italy)

LEGO games & Indy and the Coco Pops

LEGO "Indiana Jones the original adventures" - the computer game (or better "games") has hit the preview section of computer magazines. The game will come in different versions for the PC / PS2 / PS3 / Wii / Xbox 360 / NDS / PSP. Some version will have special controls:The Wii will feature the Wii controls, the Nintendo DS will have specials like blowing up a raft by blowing into the NDS speaker and so on. Looks like you have to catch them all (or at least some) to see it all...

If you can read German check out fresh scans of the
April 2008 Consol.at issue with a two page preview of the games and the May 2008 Players.at issue with a four page retro story about the old Indy games and a one page preview of the LEGO game.

And again more tasty Indy snack: I discovered Indy and the Coco Pops in an Italian super market. The coco pops come with four collectible mini ball mazes. They are "3D" meaning that each maze has two sides and two wholes that connect them. To get the ball from point A to B the route takes both sides. The four mazes are: Mutt's Motorcycle, the Crystal Skull, a Giant Ant and a Secret Sculpture. I have not yet found those Coco Pops in Austria super markets.

Indiana Jones and the other ice cream

Ok, one ice cream can never be enough for Dr. Jones. Here comes the second "Indiana Jones - Das Eis zum Film: Eis mit Vanillegeschmack mit einem Kaugummigeschmacküberzug und tollen Peitschen-Streifen."

This one will be available not only in Italy (Motta again) but also in Germany (Schöller) (and hopefully Austria).
"Ice cream with vanilla flavor with a gum flavor coating and amazing whip-marks" - Now this would surprise even the toughest archaeologist ,-)

here is a link: http://www.schoeller.de/Home/UnserEis/Unterwegs/BunteEisknaller/IndianaJones.htm

update: This goody is also available in single portions. I found found two German press texts about this ice cream:

Indiana Jones and the ice cream

Here is my best Italian Indy finding so far (yup, I am on vacation):
It's Indy ice cream! It's from Motta (Nestle), that's Schöller ice cream in Germany and Austria). The Indy ice cream is not the banana-like one in the center but the cup on the left. It comes with collectible figures, the display features 7 different ones. My bad luck: They did not sell the Indy ice cream right now, I guess it will not be available before May. I did some goggling but this ice cream does not seem to be sold in Germany or Austria (heck, I found no other reference but italy so far).

Just for reference I made this poor shot: This is the old Motta display that can still be found. You can see a similar ice cream cup th the Indy one: Last year it was Spiderman coming with 8 collectible spidy figures. The ice cream looks exactly the same, guess it comes in the same flavor (whatever flavor that was).
